How it works. In plain words.
Mark Minervini describes eight checks for a stock in a long, steady uptrend. This page counts how many are true today for any stock in the Nifty 500.
Three are about the price against its 50-day, 150-day and 200-day averages and the order of those averages. One is about the 200-day average having risen for at least a month. Two are about where the price sits in its 52-week range: at least 30% above the low and within 25% of the high. The last is a relative-strength rank of 70 or more.
The rank is Daksh's own, not the IBD rank: it compares each stock's 12-month price gain with every other Nifty 500 stock, counting the latest 3 months double. Prices before an overnight fall by an exact split or bonus ratio are scaled. Stocks with a jump that no split or bonus explains, and stocks with under a year of prices, are left out.

For the curious
Criteria: close > 150-day and 200-day averages; 150-day > 200-day; 200-day now > 200-day 21 sessions ago; 50-day > 150-day and 200-day; close > 50-day; close >= 1.3 x 52-week low; close >= 0.75 x 52-week high; rank >= 70.
Averages are simple averages of daily closes. 52-week high and low use 252 sessions of daily highs and lows.
Score = 0.4 x (3-month change) + 0.2 x (change from 6 to 3 months ago) + 0.2 x (9 to 6 months) + 0.2 x (12 to 9 months). Rank 1 to 99 is the percentile among all scored stocks.
Important information
- Education only. Not investment advice. Daksh Analytics is not SEBI-registered.
- Prices come from the exchange's daily files for the Nifty 500, worked out by Daksh Analytics after the close. They can contain errors and are not adjusted by the exchange for splits or bonus issues. When a stock's price falls overnight by an exact split or bonus ratio (for example to a half or a fifth) on a day the Nifty barely moved, earlier prices are scaled by that ratio. A one-day fall to about half or less, or a rise of 80% or more, that no split or bonus explains is marked and left out.
