Tools / Planner
Tight-stop and exposure planner. Start small, add only after a gain, see the risk at every step.
Enter your entry, stop and planned exit. The page checks the stop distance and the reward to risk, then shows the size and the total risk at each step of a three-step plan. The boxes start with example numbers. Change them to yours.

How it works. In plain words.
Mark Minervini describes keeping each loss small and starting a position small. The full size comes from the money you plan to risk: your capital times the planned risk per cent, divided by the gap between entry and stop.
The plan starts with half of that size. It adds 30% and then 20% only after the price has risen by the gain you set from the previous step. Because the adds are placed at higher prices, the total at stake if the original stop is hit can end up above the planned risk. The last column shows it at every step, and a warning appears when it passes your plan.
A stop wider than 8% is flagged. A planned exit that gives less than 2 to 1 against your risk is flagged too. The planned exit is only a way to see the ratio. It is not a forecast.
Next, check your results with the expectancy and SQN calculator.
For the curious
planned risk = capital x risk% / 100; stop distance = entry - stop; full shares = floor(planned risk / stop distance)
step shares = floor(full shares x 50% / 30% / 20%); the last step tops up to the full size
step price = previous step price x (1 + gain%); average = total cost / total shares
risk at stop = (average - stop) x total shares; reward to risk = (exit - entry) / (entry - stop)
